The Sunday morning explosion and house fire on West Water Street in Elmira was caused by a meth lab. Five people escaped the house with no injuries. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the third floor of the home. Elmira police were assisted by the State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.
