Binghamton Central School District wants to make $35 million in capital improvements to the district. The funds are made possible by the school district’s capital reserve and state aid, so there would be no impact to the tax levy. $28 million would be designated for infrastructure, technology, accessibility, and expansion.$6.7 million would be for energy efficiency improvements, such as lighting and equipment. There will be a public hearing about the project on November 27.A public vote will take place December 5 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.In order for the capital project to pass, a 60 percent favorable vote would be required.
