Two Tioga County car crashes snarled traffic on Friday afternoon. The first accident occurred on Route 17 eastbound. All traffic was diverted to Route 434 between Owego and Apalachin, as a result of the crash. There were several injuries, but the extent of those injuries was not reported. Shortly after the first crash, there was a second accident on Route 434 eastbound. Congestion due to the first accident may have been a contributing factor. Seven people were involved; there were several injuries, but the extent of the injuries was not reported.
