The man who allegedly struck a state trooper last week in Binghamton has been formally charged. James Giacalone faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder and is now being detained by authorities in Pennsylvania. Police say he hit a New York State Trooper with his car, while trying to avoid arrest. Giacalone was arraigned Monday by authorities in Montour County, Pennsylvania at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where he continues to be treated after the trooper involved–shot him in the face. Bail’s been set at $250,000. Giacalone will be extradited to New York State after he is released from the hospital.
