Last Saturday, the Elmira Police were called to a home on the 300 block of East Thurston Avenue in the city for a death investigation. Upon arrival, police found that an eight-year-old girl had died inside the residence. The death has been ruled a homicide. Police are saying that there is no evidence to suggest that there is any danger to the general public, and that the death is believed to be an isolated incident. No further details have been released but the Elmira does ask that anyone with information about this crime call the Elmira Police Detective Bureau at 607-737-5618.
