The cause of a mobile home fire in the Pride Manor Mobile Home Park in Conklin has been determined by Broome County fire investigators. The Thursday morning fire is believed to have been caused when a pet dog turned on the stove after jumping on the counter. The resident was out of the home, walking her children to the school bus stop. Apparently, the pets have turned on the stove before. This time there was a plastic bowl on the stove. There were no injuries to people or pets.
