Newark Valley firefighters and an ambulance from Maine EMS responded to a motorcycle accident on Route 38 just north of the village. It happened around 9:30 Thursday night. According to dispatch, the operator of the motorcycle has a possible broken leg and ribs. A helicopter was requested to the scene, but was unable to fly due to weather. We are unsure at this time if there was anyone else involved in the accident, or what caused it. One patient was transported to Wilson Hospital from the scene around 10 PM with serious injuries. We will report further information on this accident as it becomes available.
