The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Albert Street in Elmira around 1:30 in the morning. 19-year-old Tyir Dorsey was found to have suffered a superficial gunshot wound to the head. According to the victim, the incident happened in Southport, near the City line. Investigators believe Dorsey went to the Albert Street residence for assistance. The victim was uncooperative on where and how he suffered the wound. He was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The investigation is continuing.
