Western New York hockey legend, Brian Gionta, has retired after 1000 plus games in the NHL. The Rochester area native played for the Devils, the Canadians, and the Sabres in a career that saw him score 53 game winning goals, play in the Olympics twice, and won the Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils in 2003. He plans to work for the Sabres organization, with the younger players in the system.
