A New York State Trooper died yesterday in a line of duty motor vehicle accident. 36-year-old Jeremy VanNostrand was reporting to work in his personal vehicle, when he was rear-ended by a box truck. He was waiting to turn into the State Police barracks in Fonda. The box truck pushed Trooper VanNostrand’s vehicle into on-coming traffic. His vehicle was then struck by a pickup truck. Trooper VanNostrand was transported to Albany Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. He was a six-year veteran of the State Police. The driver of the box truck was not injured. The pickup driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is on-going.
