Christmas is a time of giving … nowhere is that more evident than the free community dinners to be served in our area on Tuesday.
Volunteers at the Owego United Methodist Church on Main Street will serve a Christmas dinner from 11am to 2pm. The dinner is open to anyone who wants a warm Christmas meal. Crafts and movies are planned for children.
The longest-running free Christmas dinner in the Southern Tier is scheduled at the American Legion on Main Street in Binghamton. For nearly three decades, the Bandera Family and dozens of volunteers have served a warm dinner on Christmas Day.
For the first time this year, a dinner is planned at the American Legion in Norwich. Dinners will also be served at the Boys and Girls Club in Endicott. Dinner time is noon to 3pm on Christmas afternoon.
