FROM VESTAL POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On December 26, at approximately 3:24 AM, the Vestal Police responded to a suspicious persons complaint in the area of Elmhaven Drive. Upon arrival, officers learned that these individuals were going through residents’ cars and stealing items of value. While in the neighborhood, responding patrols observed two males get into a vehicle, which was parked illegally on the roadway, and attempt to leave the area. This vehicle was subsequently stopped and the occupants were found to be in possession of numerous stolen items.
As a result of this investigation, the Vestal Police arrested and charged Ka-Vaughn Lowney, 19, and Dillon Kniffen, 20, both of Endicott with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony. In addition, Kniffen was also charged with several Vehicle and Traffic offenses.
Lowney and Kniffen were arraigned in Town of Vestal Court, and remanded to the Broome County jail without bail.
