One person has died in a Monday afternoon motor vehicle accident on Route 96 in the Town of Candor. The crash occurred near 1296 Owego Road, between Anderson Hill Road and Dominic Road. The road was completely blocked, and traffic was being detoured. The car hit a tree and a utility pole. Power was affected to about 200 NYSEG customers. There is no information if other people were injured. Guthrie Air was requested but could not respond due to weather conditions. There has been no information on the cause of the accident or if weather was involved. An investigation is underway.
