Men Scuffle at Upper Front Street Restaurant

Shortly after 5:00 pm Thursday, Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a restaurant on Upper Front Street, Town of Chenango, for an altercation. The investigation revealed that two people had agreed to meet at the establishment for the purpose of selling private property that had been for sale on a classified ad site.

An unknown male attempted to pay for the property with a fake $100 bill and an argument ensued. The male pushed the victim to the ground and attempted to drive away in a vehicle with the property. The victim was dragged by the car for 5 to 10 feet. The victim sustained minor injuries to his knee and his face, but refused medical treatment on scene. The victim’s cell phone was damaged during the incident.

The unknown suspect had left the scene in the vehicle. The investigation led patrol deputies to the suspect’s address where he was identified as Christopher M. Warren. The stolen property was recovered.

Warren was arrested without incident and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing at Centralized Arraignment at the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility

Charges: Robbery in the Third Degree, a class D Felony, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree, a class A Misdemeanor, Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, a class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree, a class C Felony.
