Tioga County Public Health recently teamed up with Owego’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) classes to do dental health education in honor of Children’s Dental Health Month, which is a month-long national health observance held every February to promote the benefits of good oral health. Over 40 students learned about good dental health. They also were able to practice brushing teeth on the Public Health Department’s puppet dinosaur and dragon! Each student went home with their own dental kit that included a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and a two minute timer.
