Tioga Opportunities has unveiled a new, free sharps disposal service at its Family Health Clinic.
People can safely dispose of their used needles, lancets, and other sharps in a secure drop-off container located just inside the clinic’s front entrance.
Officials say this provides a convenient option to properly dispose of this medical waste, all while reducing risks to sanitation workers and helping the environment.
The clinic is located at 110 Central Avenue in Owego. Drop-offs can be made during clinic hours – Monday 9 a.m.– 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday 9 a.m. –5 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
