Strong Kids Safe Kids returned to the Chemung County Fairgrounds Saturday.
The free and fun-filled event, held for the past 39 years, provided hands-on activities and entertainment for children, all while promoting community services in the interest of children’s health and safety, and strong family connections.
Among participants, Elmira police were on hand to show off their vehicles and to allow children to dunk their favorite officer in a dunk tank.
They say that events like Strong Kids Safe Kids are a reminder that community partnerships are about more than just safety – they are about fun, connection and building trust.
