Elmira man charged with burglary, grand larceny

A 40-year-old Elmira man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into a garage and stole thousands of dollars worth of property.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, William Champluvier has been charged with burglary and grand larceny following the incident on Aug. 7th.

Champluvier is accused of breaking into a residence in the Town of Elmira and stealing $5,000 worth of property.

He was remanded to the Chemung County Jail due to previous felony convictions.
