Dozens of boats at the Montour Falls Marina are stuck in the mud and currently cannot be moved.
With the low levels of rainfall, the water level is lower than normal in the canal. That has caused the issue with the boats being stuck.
A spokesperson for the New York State Canal Corporation said the water levels in Seneca Lake, which feeds the Cayuga Seneca Canal, are down approximately one foot from a typical year.
