Broome County Transit launched its first fully electric buses on Tuesday.
The six new buses were funded primarily through federal and state grants with a total cost of $10.4 million dollars.
County Executive Jason Garnar said that nearly 95 percent of the funding came from grants.
The county is expected to add more electric buses to its fleet next year.
