A Newark Valley man was arrested after he allegedly traveled to a No Kings Protest in New York City with a plan to harm federal agents.
According to police, 54-year-old David P. Cox, Jr. has been charged with making terroristic threats, false report of terrorism and making a threat of mass harm.
Cox allegedly told a gas station employee at the Kwik Fill on North Avenue in Owego on Friday night that he was planning to travel to the city to firebomb ICE agents at the protest.
Owego police alerted members of the NYPD and New York State Police of the threat and tracked down Cox’s vehicle in Borough Park in Brooklyn, where they took him into custody without incident on Saturday afternoon.
No weapons or bombs were found on Cox or in the vehicle.
