Teenager convicted of murder in 2024 birthday party shooting

An Elmira teenager has been convicted for the murder of a 21-year-old man at a birthday party last November.

According to WENY-TV, 18-year-old Michael W. Williams, Jr. was found guilty of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Williams shot and killed J’Sean Williams at his own birthdat party at a home on Richard Street in Southport on Nov. 15, 2024.

The victim was shot five times at close range. He passed away at a local hospital following the shooting.

The two men were not related.

Michael Williams, Jr. faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Dec. 15.
