A Steuben County man will spend the rest of his life in state prison for several rapes.
According to the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office, 51-year-old Howard resident Matthew Kapp was sentenced to 90 years in prison after he was convicted on six counts of rape in the first degree and six counts of coercion in the second degree.
According to the district attorney’s office, Kapp forcibly raped his step daughter on six occasions in the Town of Avoca between 2015 and 2019.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for each rape count and another 1 ¾ years for each coercion count.
Following sentencing, he was transferred to the Steuben County Jail to await transport to state prison.
