The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers has honored a longtime volunteer at the Sayre Salvation Army with the Bill and Sarah Ransom Award.
Sandy Campbell, who runs the food program at the local Salvation Army, was honored with the award.
This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon individuals who exemplify the values of community service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Valley community.
The award also came with an $800 donation on her behalf to the Sayre Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is in the middle of their annual Red Kettle Campaign. They are still looking for volunteers to ring bells at Tops and Walmart. If you would like to volunteer call 570-888-2153.
The final day to sign up for Christmas is for Kids toys or food is Monday, Dec. 1 from 9 to noon at the Salvation Army, located at 351 Fulton Street in South Waverly.
