A Painted Post man has been sentenced in connection with the death of his sister.
According to the Steuben County District Attorney’s Office, John Marvin has been sentenced to 16 years to life in prison for the murder of his sister on Feb. 21, 2024.
Marvin repeatedly hit his sister with a frying pan at a home on Victory Highway in the Town of Erwin. He called 911 on himself and was taken into custody without incident.
Heather Moran was airlifted to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
