Delta Airlines will soon end all flights out of the Greater Binghamton Airport.
The airline will end services at the Binghamton airport in February.
Delta will work with customers who booked flights after February 14th.
Delta is currently the only commercial airline operating at the local airport.
In a Facebook post, the airport said air service decisions involve many factors that are outside the control of local airports and communities.
The airport is in active discussions with Delta and working closely with state, local and federal partners to re-establish passenger services as soon as possible.
Here is the complete statement from the Greater Binghamton Airport:
This afternoon we were informed by Delta Airlines that they will eliminate their service to Greater Binghamton Airport on February 14th. At our request, Delta has assured us that they will personally connect with and re-accommodate all customers who booked flights after February 14th.
Air service decisions involve many factors that are outside the control of local airports and communities. We are in active discussions with Delta and are working closely with our state, local, and federal partners to re-establish passenger service as soon as possible. We also continue to have meetings with multiple airlines as we explore opportunities to expand air service at BGM. Our focus remains on providing reliable, accessible air travel options for the people and businesses of the Greater Binghamton region.
