US Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Elmira High School on Friday.
The stop was part of McMahon’s History Rocks – Trail to Independence Tour, a national effort celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Elmira High School was the only school in New York selected as part of the tour.
McMahon spoke to juniors and seniors about civic responsibility, literacy and how government works.
