Tioga County’s new radio tower project nearing finish line

Tioga County is near the finish line on its new radio tower communication project.

According to WBNG-TV, the legislature voted to authorize the application and utilize congressional funds to complete the project, which will increase radio service in rural areas.

Congressman Nick Langworthy secured $1.5 million to finish the construction of the project.

The Apalachin site towers are expected to be the first completed. Crews are currently preparing the site and driveway.

Tioga County Administrator Jackson Bailey is hoping the new systems will be active next fall.
