A fugitive out of Maryland was recently captured in Steuben County.
According to Bath Police, 26-year-old Amari Lee was taken into custody after two separate incidents in the village last week.
Lee was first taken into custody after he allegedly broke into a vacant home. He was released and then arrested the following day for allegedly stealing from a pizza place and threatening officers with a hammer.
He gave fake names to officers during both arrests. After the second arrest, officers discovered his real name and that he was wanted for armed robbery in Maryland.
Lee has been wanted on the armed robbery charge since November and police believe he was trying to reach the Canadian border.
He is currently in the Steuben County Jail awaiting extradition to Maryland.
