A Van Etten man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly fled from police while drunk.
According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Evon Rodriguez has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful fleeing a police officer and driving while intoxicated.
The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rodriguez is accused of driving almost 100 miles per hour on State Route 224.
Deputies tried to pull the suspect over, but he kept driving for a mile-and-a-half before coming to a stop.
Police found a ghost gun during the search of the car.
Rodriguez, who is a two-time convicted felon, was remanded to the Chemung County Jail without bail.
