Changes are coming to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program work requirements.

Starting on March 1, people who are able to work and do not have a child under 14 years old living with them will have to work 80 hours a month to receive benefits.

People can also volunteer, participate in community service or learn job skills as long as its approved by the local social service district.

There are also some exceptions to the new work requirement, including pregnancy and those with disabilities.
