State police remove 47 guns from Horseheads home after domestic dispute

A Horseheads man is facing several charges after police removed 47 firearms from his home.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Ryken Ruuspakka has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, which is a Class D felony.

He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, assault and obstructing governmental administration.

The arrest stems from a domestic dispute in Horseheads on Sunday.

Due to domestic violence laws in New York, a total of 47 firearms were taken from the home, including six non-compliant weapons and four 30-round magazines.
