A 60-year-old man is facing charges after an incident at the Budget Inn in Horseheads on Monday.
According to the Horseheads Police Department, Edward Kingsley has been charged with menacing a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon.
Officers were called to the motel at around 8 pm on Monday for a report of someone with a handgun.
When police arrived, they saw Kingsley with a weapon before he allegedly went back into his room and refused to come out.
Police would eventually breach the room and took Kingsley into custody.
He was arrested and taken to the Chemung County Jail.
