Canton man facing arson, burglary charges

A Canton man if facing felony charges after he allegedly set a house on fire.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 32-year-old Eric Michael Barrett has been charged with felony counts of arson, danger  of death or bodily injury and aggravated arson, bodily injury.

He was also charged with burglary following the incident on Tuesday, June 16.

The fire occurred on Windfall Road in Canton Township.

A neighbor reportedly saw Barrett driving away from the home during the incident.

An investigation revealed that Barrett had recently been evicted from the home due to an active Protection from Abuse order.

He allegedly admitted to breaking into the home, pouring gas and lighting a napkin on fire to start the blaze.
