An extreme heat watch will be in effect throughout the Twin Tiers from 11 am on Wednesday through 8 pm on Friday.
Accuweather is expecting dangerously hot conditions with head index value up to 105.
Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles, which will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
