Southern Tier airports to receive over $11 million

Airports in the Southern Tier will receive over $11 million to improve infrastructure and enhance safety and customer experiences.

The funding is through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program and Airport Infrastructure Grant Program.

The Elmira/Corning Regional Airport will receive just over $2 million to install a new passenger boarding bridge.

The Greater Binghamton Airport is set to get over $1.4 million to reconstruct the existing terminal building, including replacement of interior and exterior terminal signage.

The Ithaca Tompkins International Airport will receive over $2.5 million to construct a snow removal equipment building.

The Cortland County Chase Field Airport is getting over $5 million to pave taxiways, bringing the airport up to current standards.
