New York and Pennsylvania are among the states joining a Federal Trade Commission lawsuit against Amazon over its online advertising auctions. The complaint alleges Amazon secretly replaced auction results with higher prices for more than seven years, overcharging brands and independent sellers and passing some costs to shoppers. The case seeks restitution, penalties and an injunction. Amazon is accused of wrongdoing; the allegations have not been decided in court.
