Broome County Executive Jason Garnar presented his proposed 2027 budget Monday. The plan calls for an 8th consecutive reduction in the county property-tax rate and an increase in the senior property-tax exemption. It also outlines spending on housing and homelessness, child care, public safety, emergency services and infrastructure. The county legislature will review the proposal before taking action, so the spending plan and tax provisions are not final.
