More than $2.3 million in Local Share Account grants will support water and wastewater systems, road maintenance, public safety and emergency preparedness projects in Bradford and Tioga counties.
Bradford County projects include nearly $466,000 to replace a deteriorated retaining wall behind the Troy Sale Barn, $335,043 to reconstruct part of Robinson Road in Rome Township and $200,000 for a plow truck in Windham Township. Athens Borough will receive $67,150 for a replacement police vehicle, Towanda Borough will receive $44,030 for specialized manhole equipment and West Burlington Township will receive $28,200 for two emergency generators.
Tioga County awards include $385,025 for electrical improvements at Lawrenceville Borough’s water treatment plant, $250,000 for water-security upgrades in Nelson Township and $176,003 for new radios for the Blossburg Volunteer Fire Department. Other grants will support wastewater work and municipal vehicles.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the grants, which are funded through gaming revenue.
