A former Pennsylvania State Police corporal has been sentenced to five to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to 14 criminal charges.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office says 40-year-old Stephen M. Kamnik pleaded guilty to nine felonies and five misdemeanors. The charges included sexual abuse of children, unlawful use of a computer, receiving stolen property and official oppression.
Prosecutors said Kamnik used government computers and artificial-intelligence tools to create pornographic material, possessed child sexual abuse material and misused secured law-enforcement databases. The case also involved secretly recorded images and a stolen firearm.
A Montgomery County judge ordered seven years of probation after the prison term. The judge also classified Kamnik as a sexually violent predator, requiring lifetime registration as a sex offender.
