Pennsylvania’s Attorney General has reached a settlement with Mavis Tire over alleged deceptive sales practices at the company’s locations in the state.
The agreement provides $190,000 in consumer restitution and $25,000 for the state’s costs. Mavis could owe another $100,000 if it violates the settlement’s terms. The company operates more than 130 locations in Pennsylvania.
Consumers who believe they are eligible may submit a complaint through January 26, 2027. The Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection can be reached at 1-800-441-2555. Complaints may also be submitted through the office’s established consumer-protection channels.
Anyone filing a complaint should gather receipts, work orders, estimates, payment records and correspondence connected to the transaction. Clear records can help investigators determine whether a purchase or repair falls within the settlement.
The settlement resolves allegations and creates a process for possible consumer relief. It does not mean every customer automatically receives a payment, and the amount available to an individual may depend on the facts and documentation of the complaint.
Consumers should be cautious about unexpected calls, emails or messages offering to collect restitution for a fee. The Attorney General’s office does not require gift cards, cryptocurrency or wire transfers to process a complaint. People should contact the agency through its published phone number or official website rather than using links sent by an unknown source.
Residents with questions about a separate transaction can also use the Bureau of Consumer Protection’s complaint process.
