Unused Railroad Bridge Collapses in Tioga

A railroad bridge in the Town of Tioga, near Latimer Road, collapsed Tuesday morning. The bridge was no longer used for rail traffic. It was used by pedestrians. A nearby rail bridge was closed and then re-opened following inspection.

Hickories Park in Owego Closed

Victim in Johnson City Shooting Released from Hospital

The victim in Sunday’s shooting in Johnson City has been released from the hospital. A suspect has been arrested. Neither victim nor assailant have been identified. Police believe the shooting was targeted and not a random act. The investigation is continuing.
