A new interim superintendent has been approved by the Athens Area School District. Craig Stage, the current director of educational programs for the district, will begin serving in his capacity as interim superintendent beginning July 1st. Stage’s salary will be set at $100,000. He will be succeeding Donald Butler, who has served as the substitute superintendent since September while Diane Place is on medical leave.
