Two men have been charged in the armed robbery of the Citizens & Northern Bank in East Smithfield in Bradford County. 18-year-old Chaz Talada of Columbia Cross Roads, Pennsylvania and 23-year-old Zachary Etka of Richmond, Virginia have both been sent to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $400,000 bail. According to reports, a total of over $3,300 was taken in the robbery, which took place around 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Police say Talada walked into the bank, showed a handgun, and demanded money from the tellers, before he took the money and fled the scene. Less than an hour later, New York State Troopers spotted a vehicle matching the description given from the robbery in Ridgebury Township near the state line. The bank was closed following the incident.
