The walls and roof of one of the Fukushima power plant facility’s four containment buildings were destroyed following an explosion, which occurred at 1:30AM EST.
The country’s official nuclear watchdog said the nature of the explosion had damaged the containment building only, though the government has confirmed a radiation leak at the facility.
