A Tompkins County jury convicted the man arrested in a shooting in the Town of Newfield last year. 36-year-old Donnell Harrison was convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Back in April of 2013, Harrison allegedly went into the Newfield home of two men who were his acquaintances. That’s when police say Harrison shot one of the men in the leg and the other in the face. At the time, he fled to New York City, where he was later tracked down by U.S. Marshals. Sentencing is scheduled for next month. Harrison could be facing 10 to 25 years in state prison.
