An Elmira man has been charged after an incident in which he fired a shotgun at a New York State Trooper and a Chemung County Sheriff’s deputy as they responded to a call. 22-year-old Travis Fedock is facing two felony counts of attempted murder in the first degree. The police were called to Fedock’s father’s home in the Town of Chemung for a report of a domestic dispute. Fedock had fled the scene by the time police arrived, and while investigating at the scene, another domestic dispute had been called in at the home of Fedock’s grandmother, and there was a report of shots fired at the grandmother’s home. When the police arrived on the scene, Fedock fired a shot at them from a wooded area, and both officers returned fire. Fedock’s father was able to disarm his son, at which point Fedock resisted arrest and fought with the officers. No one was injured in the gunfire. Fedock was taken to the Chemung County jail without bail. His father, 44-year-old Stephen Fedock, was arrested for obstruction of governmental administration.
