Elmira Police have formally charged a man with murder after a shooting in their city on Saturday. 24-year-old Lawrence Baker was arraigned on second degree murder charges in Elmira City Court Tuesday. He is accused of shooting 24-year-old Najee Holmes to death in a residence on Baty Street in the city. Police say it happened after a physical confrontation between the two men. Baker is being held in the Chemung County Jail without bail.
