A former Binghamton University Assistant Police Chief was awarded the highest university honor during a special ceremony earlier this week. Former Assistant Chief William “Bill” Dunn was awarded the University Medal following 36 years of service. Dunn first started as a Campus Safety Officer at Binghamton University in 1974, where he worked his way up the ranks to Assistant Chief. Dunn retired in 2010, however, many on the BU Campus say that that his years of service are still having an effect. The ceremony was held ahead of the 5th annual NYS College and University Emergency Management Workshop at the Downtown University Center.
