New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says that gun trafficking is undermining New York’s stricter gun laws. Following a several yearlong investigation, Schneiderman’s office has indicated that roughly 74% of all guns used in crimes in New York were purchased out of state. Schneiderman says that a majority of those trafficked guns come from just seven states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. He is urging lawmakers in other states and the federal government to enact stricter gun laws as well.
